Skype is love
There is a huge brand loyalty to Skype and to many people the brand means love and closeness to distant family. As part of the mobile redesign we looked to bring the people you care about closer than ever by removing unnecessary containers and letting their words and faces come forward.
We designed a new feature around live streaming and commenting, allowing you to invite as many people as you like to a live broadcast.
As a broadcaster it's important to be able to see people's reactions and respond. We introduced the idea of the "reaction bubble" they celebrates viewer reactions and allows for quick response.
To reenforce the "love" aspect of the Skype brand, we introduced the concept of a "heartmark" as a way for viewers to mark moments in time that they appreciated. These moments are stored along with the video to be remembered and shared.
